Video Production – Internet Streaming
Any video can be compressed for Internet streaming/download. Streaming allows a user to begin the download before the video plays. Once enough buffer is created, the player rolls the video. This compensates for variations in bandwidth during the playback so that the video is not interrupted or stalled. There are trade offs in compressing video for the Internet. Generally the size off the picture is reduced, the frame rate is reduced and the visual data for each frame is compressed with a lossy algorithm. So these smaller video pictures run at less frames per second than normal and there are lots of artifacts blocks. Fortunately, the audio can help carry a small fuzzy picture. It easier to compress sound and have it sound acceptable on a typical computer speaker. |
